It doesn't fit

Try it on the day it arrives. If it isn't the size the listing says, raise it from the booking within 24 hours. If it's the listed size, start with the lender.

Updated 6 October 2026

Try the piece on the day it arrives, so there's time to sort something out before your event.

What to do first

  1. Check the size on the label against the size on the listing.
  2. If the listing gives measurements, measure the piece.
  3. Message the lender from the booking. They know how their pieces fit and may have a suggestion.
  4. Don't alter it, pin it permanently or take it to a tailor.

If it isn't what was listed

A different size from the listing, or measurements that don't match it, is a piece that isn't as described. Photograph the label and the measurements, then open the booking and press Report an issue with this booking. Choose The item isn't as described and propose a refund up to what you paid.

Raise it within 24 hours of the piece arriving. The full steps are in It arrived damaged, dirty or not as described.

If it's the listed size

Start with the lender. Once the piece is with you, the booking can't be cancelled, and it still needs to go back by your return date. You don't need to clean it before you send it back.

Before you book next time

  • Open Size guide on the piece, and read the fit tips from people who've rented it.
  • Message the lender before you book. You don't need a booking to ask about sizing.
  • Allow 1-2 days between the piece arriving and your event.

After the rental

When you review the lender, you can leave a fit tip: whether the piece runs small, true to size or large. It helps the next person pick the right size. See Reviews.
