Verify your identity
Confirm who you are with a photo ID and a selfie. Every lender verifies before their pieces go live. For renters it's optional, and lenders can see it.

Verifying your identity confirms you're you. The check is done by Stripe Identity. Your ID stays with Stripe, not with us.
Open Account, then Account settings, then Security. Under Identity, press Verify your identity.

What you need
A government-issued photo ID and your device camera for a selfie.

Press Verify your identity and follow the steps.
What you'll see
- In review. We're checking your details. This usually takes a few minutes.
- Verified. Your identity is confirmed and on file.
- Try again. Something didn't match. Try again with a clearer photo.
If you rent
It's optional. Once you're done, your profile shows ID verified, so lenders can see it when you ask to book.
If you lend
Every lender verifies. Your pieces stay hidden from renters until you do. It's one of the setup steps in The setup checklist.
No ID on you? You can add your date of birth for now. That doesn't show you as verified, and as a lender your pieces stay hidden until you verify.
