Your privacy

Who sees your name and address and when, what stays with Stripe, how location and the map work, and what we keep. We don't sell your personal information.

Updated 24 October 2026

We collect what running the marketplace needs, and we don't sell your personal information. The full detail, including every provider we use, is in the Privacy Policy.

Who sees what

  • When you rent. Before a lender accepts, they only see your suburb. Once they accept, they see your first and last name, delivery address and profile, so they can get the piece to you. They never see your card details.
  • When you lend. Your profile shows your suburb and postcode, never your street address. Your full address is shared with a renter once their booking is accepted.
  • On a business's own website. You use your Ourfit account there. The business sees your name (or your mobile number, if you haven't added a name) and your booking so it can look after you, and Ourfit handles the payment. The site's Privacy page says what the business keeps, such as its mailing list.
  • Both sides can see whether the other has verified their ID.
  • Reviews are public and show your profile. Fit tips can be anonymous.

Payments and ID checks

Payments and identity checks are handled by Stripe. Your card number and your ID document never sit in Ourfit's own database. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to anything sensitive is limited.

Location and the map

Ourfit uses the suburb you give us, the addresses you save, and a rough location from your internet connection. Your device location is only used if you ask for it, for example to find lenders near you, and saying no just means results aren't sorted by distance.

On the map, a lender is shown at an approximate point in their suburb, not at their address. Distances are worked out on Ourfit and shown roughly, never as an exact figure.

Messages

Your messages are visible to the other person and to Ourfit, to provide the service. To keep the marketplace safe, Ourfit may review messages.

Texts and emails

Booking, payment, delivery and dispute messages always send. Everything else you can turn off in Notifications. See Your account and notifications.

Deleting your account

To delete or deactivate your account, open Security and use Contact support under Delete or deactivate. We keep some records after an account closes where the law requires it, and for disputes and fraud prevention.
