How renting works
Find a piece, ask for your dates, and you're only charged if the lender accepts. Wear it, then send it back by your return date.
Updated 6 October 2026
On Ourfit you rent pieces from other people's wardrobes and from rental businesses. Every rental runs the same way: you ask, the lender answers, the piece comes to you, and you send it back.

The short version
- Find a piece. Search by dates, size, brand and more. See Find a piece.
- Ask for your dates. Pick your dates and how you'll get it, then press Request to book. We hold the total on your card. You're only charged if the lender accepts.
- The lender answers. Lenders have 2 days to respond. If they accept, your card is charged and the booking is confirmed. If they decline, or don't answer in time, the hold is released.
- Get it. Express Post pieces are posted to arrive by your first day. For pickup, you agree a time with the lender in messages.
- Wear it. You don't need to clean it. The lender handles cleaning between rentals.
- Send it back. Post it in the prepaid return satchel, or hand it back in person, by your return date.
What you're responsible for
- Check the piece when it arrives and report any problem straight away.
- Try it on as soon as it arrives, so you have time if it doesn't fit.
- Take a couple of photos when it arrives and again before you send it back. Dated photos are your evidence if anything is questioned.
- Return it by your return date. Extensions aren't available yet, and late returns can be charged per day.
- Keep messages and payments on Ourfit, so everything stays tracked.
Your card stays on file for the rental. It can be charged for damage or loss up to the piece's declared value, and only after the lender raises a claim and it's resolved.
Who sees what
Before a booking is accepted, the lender only sees your suburb. Once they accept, they see your name, delivery address and profile so they can get the piece to you. They never see your card details.
