Questions people ask
How does renting a dress on Ourfit work?
You search for a piece, pick your dates, and send a request to the person who owns it. Nothing is charged until they accept. Once they do, it reaches you posted or picked up nearby, and it goes back the same way at the end of the rental.
Do I have to clean it before I send it back?
No. Lenders handle cleaning between rentals, and renters are asked not to wash or dry-clean anything themselves - the wrong treatment does more damage than a night out. Send it back as it is.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Renters save a card and agree to the damage policy before they book. If a piece comes back damaged, the lender raises it in the app with photos, the renter has a window to respond, and a charge can be made up to the cap the renter agreed to when they saved their card - the item's retail price where one is recorded. Everything runs through the app rather than between two people directly.
Can the lender say no?
Yes, and that is the point. Every request goes to the lender first. They can decline for any reason, and nothing is charged and nothing leaves their wardrobe until they accept.
What does it cost to list something?
Listing is free, and a piece nobody rents costs you nothing. Ourfit takes 15% of the rental price per completed rental, card processing included, so it only costs you anything when you have earned something.
How much should I charge for a piece?
Ourfit suggests a price from what the piece cost new, and you can move it up or down - it is yours to set. At the suggested price, roughly four rentals covers what you originally paid.
