How to lend your wardrobe and earn

Last updated 2 November 2026

List a piece, set your own price for a 4 or 8 day rental, choose pickup or posting, and earn when it is rented. Anyone in Australia can lend. You decide what goes up and when it is available.

The pieces that rent are the ones people need for a date: wedding guest dresses, formal gowns, races outfits and cocktail dresses.

What to list

Occasion wear you have worn once or twice and that is in good condition. Check seams, zips and lining before you photograph. A piece with a loose hem is better fixed first than described.

Photos and fit notes

Photograph the front, back and any detail in daylight. Write the brand, the size, your height, and whether it runs small. A clear listing means fewer questions and fewer arguments.

Pricing

You set both the 4 day and the 8 day price. Look at similar pieces on Ourfit to see what other lenders charge. Our pricing guide for rental businesses works through the sums, and the same logic applies to one dress.

Delivery and protection

Choose pickup, Australia Post or courier for each piece. There is no cash bond: the renter's card is held on file, and a damage charge is capped at the item's retail price. A claim needs photos, so photograph the piece before it goes out and when it returns. Payouts are paid through Stripe, and fees on bookings are in the lender terms.
